Starting an EPIC journey...
Exploring Pathways and Investigating Careers (EPIC) in Medicine that is.
Truth to be told, I am embarking on an adventure. Having never taken a CS class before, knowing nothing about how to make a website, I am learning a lot as I go.
When I applied for funding, I originally thought that I would hire someone to do it for me. However, my room mate (who is super intelligent, kind, encouraging–more than I could ask for really) suggested that I try learning how to build the website on my own first. There's a lot of Stanford student wizzes I coud turn to for help (true, about at least several on each floor are CS + tech savvy people) and best thing is that I would be able to transform my ideas from the drawing board to the formation of the website directly. While having a third party who is an expertise is helpful, I might have to compromise on some ideas or depend on their understanding of my explanations- potentially a lot of back and forths in which I could be devoting my energy to making the website just the way I want it.
Also, most of the funding is applied to my summer housing, so motivated by the prospect of building a website on my own (with some advice) and by circumstances here I am startng that exciting journey!
You can can see the preview of the website in-progress below :)
I look forward to learning a lot and updating you on my progress.
Warmly,
Vy
