The back story behind EPIC Medicine
Hi there,
It occurs to me that it might be fun to share the story of how EPIC Medicine got its name.
The idea of the project came from my work with BeAGoodDoctor.org, where I helped lead the team in Premedical Careers Pathway and Research.
From that smaller project, I was inspired to create a larger vision, especially catered to Stanford students. I brainstormed various names, and below were the contenders:
(I am still up for changing the name if you have any additional ideas or liked any of the contenders below better. Let me know!)

Winner: EPPIC Exploring Premedical Pathways and Investigating Careers in Medicine
Revised: EPIC Medicine
I had actually submitted my application to The Stanford Fund for the Sappling Project with EPPIC: Exploring Premedical Pathways and Investigating Careers in Medicine
And by accident left out one _ when I was creating the website. It is a lot better with just "EPIC."
I also liked the sound of "EPIC Medicine" because I learned from my work in the Emergency Department at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center that they have an electronic medical record (EMR) system happened to be called EPIC.
So there you have it - how the EPIC journey all began out of serendipity :)
Until next time! Vy
